Pink Essay is a creative studio & platform and founded by David Eardley that celebrates radical design subculture. We create activations, experiences, objects, & archives that explore the transformational world of furniture and object design. Pink Essay is David Eardley and Matt Pecina, two friends with a wide range of creative expression and experiences, united by our shared love for radical design and our desire to transform the culture.

The Platform: Our digital archive and design community platform on Instagram at @pinkessay has an audience of over 100,000 and growing, connecting our community of designheads all over the world. Our diverse range of work has been featured in Cult Classic, Office Magazine, Salone di Mobile Milano, I-D Magazine, Sight Unseen, Arch Digest, and NY Mag’s Curbed.

The Studio: As a creative studio centered around re-designing the design community, we create unique and meaningful creative work for a range of clients seeking a better understanding and more authentic access to today’s designhead.

Our services include creative direction, editorial production, product design, branding, graphic design and illustration, copywriting, and more. Our clients and creative partners have included Gufram, Pantone Color, Cloakroom Magazine, NYCxDESIGN, StockX, and more.

In 2023, we launched Designheads, a new magazine dedicated to radical design subculture, hosted on Substack.
